Setting Info:
The world of Warehouse 13 is exactly like it is on Earth, but with one very important difference. Special items that have been created through various, and dangerous ways either by normal people with strong feelings in an important time in a moment, or some incident that has involved the artifact and a person just had to be around the object enough, and long enough to influence the essence of what the person uses it for.. A few to name include; an Alpine Brandy Rescue Cask that switches the mind of two living things, which one of those people has to be a dog. A birdcage. And as quoted ‘Attracts the attention and rouses the anger of any feathered, winged, bipedal, endothermic, egg laying, vertebrate animals within a one-mile radius. (And one smells like bacon for many days.) Or Jack the Ripper’s Lantern, where anyone caught in the light of the lantern’s beam becomes transfixed, unable to think or moved. If moved away suddenly, one will die. (Also, some/a lot of artifacts tend to oddly smell like fudge. That is the first helpful tip in the handbook to know if one is around or not.)
Out of the Warehouse the world is normal, 2013 Earth time. Everything is still in the norm. Technology is her happy place, as well as playing the guitar and singing. And she takes technology wherever she goes. Even into the middle of a huge forest if need be.
Most of her world is actually lived in or nearby the Warehouse. From the first day she’s gone through the front door, just about her whole world is connected to it. At first she wasn’t so happy happy about it, but through the months/years she’s technically become one with the Warehouse. And it’s one place she can act like herself, and do things she’s good at…which is gadgetizing the whole place to suit her. (As well as Arty. For him she makes the old things ‘newish, but with an old style vibe’.)
Most notably, Claudia is a proud tech geek, and every day she lives up to that title. Since before coming to the Warehouse, in her childhood she understood technology like no one else could. Even at around the age of six she would challenge her sister, saying if she could make a computer work, then her sister would get it for her…and she won every time. And after hacking into the supposed ‘unhackable’ Warehouse 13 (With some accidental help.) She found a way to bring her brother back from a whole different dimension! While doing that she had to go over all of her brothers notes, and rewire everything, all before the age of seventeen only to halfway get her brother back. She had to steal Arty to get the rest of him back into the real world. And once fully part of the Warehouse team, it was her job to rewire everything so it would be hard for even her to hack back in.
Now her curiosity and technology could lead to new things. Within the warehouse, before she was about to go get the artifacts, her job was to do chores around the Warehouse. She spent most of those days alone, talking to the things she was fixing, but boredom leads to creativity. She has invented many useful things around the warehouse. Mostly fun things she could use like her mini-tesla gun that was just as powerful as the big one, but just in a smaller package. There have also been tesla bombs, the goo-zooka, and the 3D hologram imager. Given enough time, she can create just about anything that can be built. She is a great mastermind with a high IQ.
Given that working at Warehouse 13 has been her first and only job, she has come to absolutely love it. Since she’s gone through most of the warehouse, she knows where most artifacts are, and this is great knowledge to have around the holidays, or just getting through a day of work. Like she keeps a snow globe by the computer that when shaken, will keep her drinks nice and frosty. And during Christmas, she knows how to make the room fill with sparkles, obtain the perfect Christmas tree, and the best hot chocolate. Of course Arty disapproves of it, but Claudia knows which artifacts are not dangerous, and Pete and Myka will usually back her up when she does cool things like that to brighten up the place. Or, if a random artifact happens to awaken like say…a disco ball, she’ll drop everything, and start dancing like no one’s looking. (And no one usually is. Except for the warehouse itself.)
Under all of her knowledge, her personality is a bit jumbled up. On a bad day she can be quite snarky, being very blunt about things. Or when she’s in a situation she deems as ‘suckish’ she can be a little to blunt. She will be the one to take a step back in a situation, and point out just how screwed everyone is at that moment. And when such a moment comes, and someone gives her a good thud on the head she can turn quite impulsive. She will start spouting out different actions to take, only to go around and do something else if it seems to be a better idea that what she just said. One can say she has a habit of running towards danger instead of running away like everyone else should do, and there are a few reasons for this. The most obvious one is that running towards the bad thing, means obtaining an artifact. Over the few years she’s been at it, it has become the norm for her. Possibly making it seem like she’s braver than she really is.
Sarcasm is her best friend. She uses it in just about any type of conversation. Annoyed, overjoyed, bored, talking to herself, confused, or peeved, she’ll use it in just about any way she can. Even when she knows she’s in serious trouble her use of sarcasm will not vanish. She’s a fast thinker, and speaks in a way that sounds like anything she says is true. (Except for when she’s in trouble with Arty or Mrs. Frederic.) Then…she starts talking in third person. Asking if Claudia cannot be in trouble, or her wishing there won’t be any bad kind of punishment. The only other time she talks in third person is when she’s alone. Like if one of the artifacts starts acting up she’ll turn around and say something like “She raised her eyebrow at this…and walked on…”
Because of Claudia’s past, she feels like a certain way about her family and friends. Since her brother has been brought back to the right dimension, he is now on the opposite end of the world from her. They do get along like any normal brother and sister would, except sometimes Claudia can now be more of an adult than him. (A scientist that was experimenting in teleportation more than 8 years ago.) As of where I’m taking her from, she is unaware of her sister, but they are good friends as shown in a flashback episode.) Then there’s the Warehouse agent. Claudia didn’t have a father starting at the age of 8 or so, so she never got the ‘dad’ experience. But the longer she stays in the Warehouse, the closer she’s gotten to Arty. They might not always get along, but he’s the closest thing she’s had to a father since she was young. Pete and Myka are like her brother and sister. Whenever they go artifact hunting they tend to let Claudia stay away and work her computer magic, and keep her safe. And the two of them often likes the things she does, only leading her to do other things to make them happy. Now Jinks. Jinks has gotten to be a very special friend to Claudia, and quite fast. Though that may only be because Claudia is so much like his dead sister. She has even dubbed their relationship as “Best Friends Forever Weather You Like It Or Not.” And at this point in time, while Steve is dead, a bit of her dark side has come back, bubbling to the top. She used an artifact to kill someone who could only be killed one way, and saved that life to give it to Jinks, even though it is against all regulations, and she’ll probably get into deep trouble for it. That’s just how far she’s willing to go to get her friends back. Imagine what would happen if one of them were hurt, and she had the right artifact on hand. It quite possibly would not end well.
Alas, she’s only had one real relationship in her life so far. It didn’t take her too long to figure out that some things are better left to grown-ups. But it still doesn’t help that she has no idea how to act around boys her own age. She’s still a little bit of a kid. When she sees guys in just a towel, she will look straight up and to the side, otherwise the only words she can manage is ‘um’, ‘er’, ‘heh’, and ‘uh’. It still takes a good talking with Myka to get her to beat it out of her head that she shouldn’t be nervous, and just act like herself…but her eyes still tend to stay focused on other things unless they’re wearing real clothes. Then the only thing awkward about her speech is just how fast she can talk. “Dating is for the birds.”
Abilities/Weaknesses:
Claudia is just a normal human. She can’t fly, teleport, or really do anything but jump maybe a little higher than a foot into the air. While she is in good shape, working out is not a hobby…Although obtaining artifacts may seem like a workout at the end of the day. Her legs will turn to jello after dancing for more than fifteen minutes straight. Having no more than 5 hours of sleep will make for an unproductive Claudia, and putting her somewhere that lacks technology makes her completely useless. (And if put in a forest, it makes her useless and annoyed. She is not fond of bugs.) And if betrayed by a friend, or one doesn’t believe what she is saying is true, she’s easily hurt. She acts twice her age, but since she’s only almost nineteen, most still have a hard time taking everything she says seriously. And that hurts her the most. She will go days, weeks, or years mad at someone who’s done something wrong against her. It’s hard to earn that trust back.
But besides all that, she has a few good abilities. Give her a computer and she could hack into the Pentagon within a few days. She can build anything, given the time and the equipment to do so. She is an excellent student, only needed to be told how to do things once, and she’ll never forget. She does know her way around a gun…well, a tesla gun at least. Stunning a person, causing short-term memory loss, and on the higher settings…immediate electrical combustion. She can also out run some people quite easily. This is only because she’s had to run from so many artifacts that running is second nature. And her use of sarcasm usually will lighten the mood just a little bit so the fact that their lives are in serious danger doesn’t seem too horrid at that moment.
She’s also allergic to old, and can recite most of the bible by memory alone.
